We work with active adults - from runners to gym-lovers to busy parents to triathletes - who are ready to nourish themselves. Our approach helps you challenge the diet mentality and develop consistent nutrition habits that power your body, mind, life, and training goals.

1-on-1 sports nutrition coaching at Back Bay Health combines face-to-face sessions with the comprehensive support and resources you deserve.

  • This is for you if:

    • You “bonk” during workouts

    • You don’t know what to eat or drink before, during, or after running

    • You’re exhausted after long runs or training sessions

    • You experience unpleasant GI symptoms (cramps, diarrhea, pain) around running

    • You feel like something is missing from your training plan

    • You want to feel healthy without obsessing over food

    • You’re experiencing chronic fatigue or are hitting a wall during exercise

    • Something is standing in the way of you feeling and performing at your best

      You will:

    • Learn how to make & order meals that fit your goals

    • Improve your energy and fatigue

    • Enjoy all foods without guilt

    • Reconnect with your hunger and fullness cues

    • Establish strategies to fuel your exercise/training

    • Learn what to eat while training or competition

    • Learn how to fuel workouts without cramps or pain

    • Learn when to hydrate and what electrolyte supplements to use

    Insuring & Pricing:

    • Our registered dietitian is in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield, Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Mass General Brigham Health Plan.

      • Sessions are likely covered by insurance, however you must call to verify your specific coverage.

    • For other insurance plans:

      • You will be given a superbill to submit to your insurance for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

    • HSA/FSA and all major credit cards accepted

In order to make individualized recommendations, we need to understand your story - your unique background, your likes/dislikes and your needs by assessing:

  • Past medical history

  • Current symptoms and health concerns

  • Dietary, supplement, and lifestyle patterns

  • Assessments from other practitioners

  • Previous laboratory results

Additional laboratory testing can be ordered, if needed.

Once we understand the big picture of your history and lifestyle, we will guide you through personalized, food-forward interventions that will nourish and fuel your body.

This may include:

  • Nutrition education

  • Medical nutrition therapy

  • Lifestyle counseling

  • Supplement recommendations, if needed

  • Collaboration with other providers
